At Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services, we believe that in order to work towards eliminating violence, we must focus on education and preventing violence. Our staff is available to provide interactive presentations on a variety of topics to a wide variety of audiences. All presentations are free and are customized to the needs of your organization. Typically topics are combined into multiple presentations to meet the needs of the participants. A healthy relationship aspect is always included in the presentation. Wings of Hope also offers free consultation on these topics and will provide insights and information that will make it easier for you to deal with these issues when they arise.
By offering these school and college-based presentations students can learn about healthy relationships at an age-appropriate level that is relevant to what they are experiencing. The Presentations for Middle Schools and High Schools are usually given during Health classes and in Family Consumer Science Classes in cooperation with the teachers, in ways that support and expand the Health and Safety curriculum at each school. Wings of Hope works with multiple organizations on College Campuses; including Sororities/Fraternities, Advisement Classes and at Awareness Events.
Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services also has Prevention Classes for our Stillwater community and in the 5 counties in which Wings of Hope serves (Noble, Lincoln, Logan, Pawnee and in Payne Counties). We have presented to: healthcare providers, business leaders, community organizations, at Summer Camps, Religious youth groups, to media groups and to anyone else who is interested in joining the conversation about ending sexual violence and relationship violence. Topics covered include teen dating violence, media influence, types of abuse, healthy relationships, sexual assault, how to ask for consent, warning signs of relationship abuse, vicarious trauma, oppression, barriers to leaving, bystander intervention strategies and knowing how to be a supportive friend and family member to a survivor.
The Wings of Hope Prevention Program Coordinator, Julia Aikman is available to do single session 60-minute presentations on the dynamics teen dating violence/sexual violence in the lives of Middle School students to College Students. Multiple sessions are also available and we can work with your curriculum needs.
Let’s start talking about Healthy Relationships! Let’s make it the norm in our community!
